Modified Training the Hand Workshop Cancellation Policy: 16 March 2020

Modified Training the Hand Workshop Cancellation Policy
16 March 2020

As the world is concerned with the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), so are we at Rob Cosman Woodworking, especially when it comes to having a safe environment for folks attending any of our Training the Hand Workshops.  Because of this we are announcing our Coronavirus (CD-19) Training the Hand Workshop policy.

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Situation in Canada

Coronavirus cases are on the increase in Canada, just as in the U.S.  The Canadian Public Health service and the provincial governments are monitoring the situation.  Updates on the coronavirus situation in Canada are available at the Canadian Public Health Services website at:  https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection.html#a1

Coronavirus and Training the Hand Workshop

We are very concerned about our 2020 Training the Hand Workshop season. As of the date of this policy statement, we have NOT cancelled any of our workshops; however, we will cancel workshops if the situation so dictates. We re-evaluate our decision weekly as we approach the workshop, always keeping the safety of our students foremost in our mind. We have imposed a deadline on ourselves of approximately two weeks prior to each workshop to make our final hold or cancel decision.

Training the Hand Workshop Cancellation Policy Modification

Even though we may not cancel a Training the Hand Workshop, we understand that some folks scheduled for a Training the Hand Workshop may be reluctant to travel during this current outbreak.  We fully understand your concerns; therefore, we are waiving our normal cancellation policy.  Any paying student who is scheduled for a 2020 Training the Hand Workshop who desires to cancel due to coronavirus health concerns may do so without any financial penalty.  Any paying student who cancels their scheduled workshop will receive full credit for monies paid which will be applies to a 2021 workshop of their choice.  Any Purple Heart Scholarships student who cancels their assigned workshop will be reassigned to a 2021 workshop of our choice.

Self-Monitoring for Symptoms of Coronavirus Before Coming to Your Workshop.

We ask everyone scheduled to attend one of Rob’s Training the Hand Workshop to self-monitor themselves for symptoms of coronavirus (fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath).  We ask that anyone displaying any of these symptoms within 14 days of your scheduled workshop, to please call us and cancel your workshop and reschedule for a 2021 season workshop.

Medical coverage while at the workshop.

Everyone attending a Training the Hand Workshop should have medical coverage.  For non-Canadians we recommend medical travel insurance.  For more information please see the full description section of any of the Training the Hand Workshop product pages at RobCosman.com.

Preventive Behaviors while at the Workshop.

For those that do attend a 2020 Training the Hand Workshop, we ask that everyone practice preventive behaviors. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Put your used tissue in the waste basket.  If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands.  Frequently wash your hands with soap and water.  Avoid touching your face and clean frequently touched surfaces.  Greet others without shaking hands or touching.

As always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have. As always, we can be reached by text from the “contact us” link at RobCosman.com or by calling (877) 967-5966 between the hours of 10am and 6pm, Monday through Friday (Atlantic Time).
