I "discovered" PEC tools of California and was so impressed I bought some of their stuff to put it to the test of daily use. I am still impressed and I now recommend PEC's premium line of solid squares.
PEC's Solid squares are just that - solid metal, no moving parts, and VERY accurate. I have and use several different sizes of solid squares in order to match the square to the job at hand; the price of these squares permits this luxury!

12 inch long blade.
Made from high quality harden tool steel.
Has true right angles; both inside and out.
Beams and blades are precision ground and hardened.
Length of blade is measured from inner edge of beam to the end of the blade.

High quality square

I got this on sale for a good price for the size. I compared it on a calibrated surface against a Starrett 12” combo square and it was bang on to that. I don’t have anything more exact to check it with. Fit and finish were excellent. I like the heft and the stable base on it.

Very nice addition to my arsenal

This square gives a lot of bang for the buck! Was needing a precision square with a longer blade that i could absolutely rely on without the expense of less sturdy more expensive aluminum tools. This will be my go to square when absolute precision and confidence in my setup is needed.

Great value

It's a good square for the price. Visually the grinding on the beam and inner edge of the blade looks a bit inconsistent however I don't have another square this size to check it. I trust that it is within the advertised tolerance.

Love it!

I own several PEC solid squares. Purchased the 12" because I needed a larger square as i started building cabinets and larger pieces of furniture. The solid feel and construction, the weight, and the accuracy are unmatched. It's a pleasure having them in my shop and using them. I'm a fan of PEC products for life.
