Rob Cosman's Dovetail Marker
Marking your dovetail pins and tails can be a laborious task if you do not have a well designed marker. My Dovetail Marker is designed for marking both through and half-blind dovetails. My Dovetail Marker enables you to quickly, accurately, and repeatably layout your tails.
Made from a solid piece of wood, it fits and feels great in your hand.
Allows you to lay out the angle cut and its associated straight cut without re-positioning the marker.
Has 1:6 and 1:7 angled vertical faces and a 90 degree horizontal face.
1:6 is the traditional angle for softwoods and 1:7 is the traditional angle for hardwoods.
Shipping box doubles as a handy storage container to keep it from getting beat up in your tool box.
Rob had a clever idea / why not be able to mark end and long grain faces with a marker held at one place?
Dovetail Marker works just fine!
I enjoy using Rob’s dovetail marking gauge! It’s light and well designed. I highly recommend it!
Great, but for the life of me can not figure out how to get back into the little round container it shipped in
Hand cutting dovetails
Hi Rob, Excellent tools! Excellent instruction. Wiring on a jewelry box for a granddaughter and attempting to avoid any power tools. Thanks again!
Best Dovetail Marker
I have used several markers but this one is the best one yet. I used metal ones that slide side to side when marking and are heavier. This one is very light and doesn’t slip. I really like the little tube it comes in. I’m still working and practicing on my hand cut dovetails and this makes it easier to make your marks. Worth the price.
