Wax makes your bench plane glide like magic across wood.  All wax IS NOT the same.  Some wax will even build up a sticky film on your plane.  Not our Plane Magic wax. Specially formulated to our specifications, Plane Magic reduces friction making planing much easier.

We have packaged it in an easy to use and store tube, like a glue stick.  Get one for your workbench and one for your apron pocket.

Lipstick for Planes

I have just received my second batch of the plane wax. The first batch would not extend from the container, possibly as a consequence of heating/cooling during shipping to Australia. This time the dispenser is working as it should and it really does help the plane sole slide over hard eucalypt timber. Very worthwhile.

Plane wax

Eases the amount of effort needed to push plane. Doesn’t leave residue on the wood!

This wax definitely makes the plane glide more smoothly and with less effort. An additional benefit is that it lets you have a better feel for what is important, namely the positioning of the plane on the wood and the cutting itself. Problems can be more quickly identified and corrected while in the process of planing, rather than waiting and discovering problems with your square or with insufficient blade sharpness.
