Wolverine Grinding Jig
When using a grinder to put the primary bevel on your blades, as I do, you need a jig that allows you to set the grind angle. Teaching a seminar at a school one day I found these Wolverine jigs and they beat the pants off of all other grinder jigs for sharpening blades.
Use to upgrade an inexpensive grinder for grinding a primary bevel on chisels and plane blades.
A simple, Heavy duty, well made jig.
Features Wolverine’s system of adjustment that is quick and solid.
Thick metal platform acts like a heat sink helping you keep your blade from over-heating.
Increases the versatility of your grinder, this is one of the best grinding accessories you can own.
Can be used with 6", 8" or 10" grinders.
I bought the Wolverine Grinding Jig from Rob Cosman; it arrived in about a week. The cost seemed consistent with other sellers. No instructions, but from others' pictures I installed it as others have, anchoring it to a plywood base plate along with the grinder. Certainly beefy enough and easy to align for grinding plane blades. I set it for about 25 degrees and redressed some blades. I watched a video from Rob Cosman and copied his method, moving back and forth rapidly. I have an aluminum oxide wheel that works well. The jig is a beauty, as Rob Cosman noted. Thanks for alerting me to its existence.
I am setting up my workshop right now. Going to be focusing on hand tools which I have purchased from a family owned company in New Brunswick, Canada. Looking forward to putting to use the 50 years of the knowledge of Rob Cosman that he has demonstrated in his videos. Really enjoy the PHP & Angie's bed table every Saturday night.
