Even in a well lit workshop like mine, a workbench light is a must. When cutting dovetails, tenons, or doing any work you want your workpiece lit up without any shadows. This adjustable lamp is what I use and I love it.
We beefed up the lamp's stem by inserting a steel rod into it to prevent the lamp from bending or breaking at this traditionally weak spot.
It comes with a special "Mushroom" shaped holder that we manufacture to hold the lamp. The "mushroom" fits into a 1 inch diameter bench dog hole. The mushroom has a 1/2 inch hole drilled through the center that the lamp stem fits into.

Having consumed a lot of RC videos, I’m not at all surprised that the same care and attention to detail he brings to woodworking carries over to what he sells. An inexpensive lamp is turned into the perfect workshop light!
I’ve finally reached a point in my life where my normal overhead shop lighting sometimes doesn’t cut it in terms of detailed task lighting. My workbench is just such a place needing additional spot lighting, so I bought this really nice adjustable light, with its custom bench dog/mushroom mounting from Rob Cosman and Co to fix that problem. The light holds its position well once set, and isn’t so large that it gets in the way of working. A great addition to the workshop.
I have a tiny shop with three work surfaces of varying thicknesses all close together. By drilling a ½” hole in my wooden clamp, I am able to move my lamp to any workspace, even those that are 3” thick. Between the range and flexibility of the lamp and now its portability, I’m able to see my work clearly.

The seems sturdy and works well. The “mushroom” does good job holding the lamp in a dog hole.
