Our Hex Socket Replacement Screws: Lie Nielsen set, upgrades the five adjustment screws on your Lie Nielsen bevel down bench planes, giving you significantly better control versus the factory supplied slotted screws.

Our Hex Socket screw set replaces the following five factory screws: lever cap screw, chip-breaker screw, 2 x frog retaining pin screws (bedrock style), and the frog adjustment screw.

Each screw has a 3/16 inch hex socket head so that all our plane adjustment screws can be adjusted using the same size hex driver.

The underside of the lever cap screw is countersunk so that it "grips" the lever cap when pressure is applied preventing slippage, just like the factory supplied lever cap screw.

What an Amazing Company

Rob gives such great, and always helpful, teaching with many needful tidbits. And as a plus, if you order from this online website, you receive excellent products. What many may not know is what happened to me today. I made an order this morning. I purchased the set of screws for two hand planes. I have run into the problem with these expensive planes, sorry screws that if not very careful get messed up because of their construction. But Rob and his professional team have come up with an exceptional fix - Hex socket! Brilliant! Within about 15 minutes I received an email that my purchase was on the way. Messed up my LN 4 1/2 Plane

While replacing the right side frog adjustment screw, the new hex-socket screw totally messed up the threads and wouldn’t go in. When I tried to just put the LN original screw in, it tracked the damaged threads and won’t go in. I don’t know what I’m going to do and I’m just sick about my beloved plane! I love Rob Cosman and everything about the website and products overall, but I’m a little gun shy now about altering anything I have now with different products.

Disappointing

I must say that I’m disappointed. The frog screw won’t fit in its placement on my lie-Nielsen 4 1/2, so it is obviously not usable. All screws heads don’t fit precisely enough with my 3/16 screwdrivers heads. There is too much play to tighten it without damaging the screw head. Tried with a metric 5mm hex key in case it would do the job but it does not fit.

Great addition for consistency across a dozen or so LN and WR planes.l

A little pricey for that many. Two of the LN frog screws were a little dented on the pointy end and were hard to start. I didn't have a die to match to clean up. Would like to get the adjustSTARs but too expensive for 12 planes.

Great acessory

Now my LN planes are buffed with Adjustars and hexscrews. Made top quality tools even better!!
