Replacement blades for Rob's Dovetail Marking Knife.

Straight Blade:

  • The straight blade is designed for tracing tails onto the pin-board using traditional marking techniques.

  • Radius tip “track’s” in the end grain.

  • Wide at the blade tip for better registration against the tail.

Regular Saw-Tooth Blade:

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.

  • Made of the same blade material as my regular dovetail saw, .024 inch thick kerf.

  • Regular saw tooth blade has 22 TPI so it goes into the kerf easily.
  • Allows you to "saw" a starting kerf in the pin-board.

3/4 Saw-Tooth Blade:

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.

  • Made of the same blade material as my 3/4 dovetail saw, .019 inch thick kerf.

  • 3/4 saw tooth blade has 22 TPI so it goes into the kerf easily.
  • Allows you to "saw" a starting kerf in the pin-board.

.025 inch Kerf Saw-Tooth Blade

  • Designed specifically for use with Rob's dovetail transfer technique.
  • Leaves a .025 inch thick kerf.

  • Works with any dovetail saw that has a .025 inch - .026 inch thick kerf.
  • DOES NOT work with any Rob Cosman Saw

    Dove tail marking knife

It’s great thinking about getting a second one just for the marking knife so I don’t have to constantly switch in and out

Replacement .025” kerf saw toothed blade

I have a really old Lie Nielsen dovetail saw that I keep sharp and set when needed. The plate is .020” but at the moment the kerf is .024” so the Cosman transfer saw blade fits too tightly to pull through the kerf. I like the idea but when it’s that difficult to do the transfer I am unable to hold the tail board in place. Not your fault. Rob Cosman taught me to cut perfect dovetails and I am eternally greatful.

    Excellent Tool

The marking knife & blades are no.1 quality! Great idea matching the marking knife blades to dovetail saw! My marking and dovetails joint have improved drastically. Thanks for sharing.

    Finally!

After having bought lesser quality tools in my now 2 year Odyssey in woodworking, and being continually frustrated in my attemps to consistently cut decent dovetails, I now have the tools and means to succeed. I am 70 years old, and, for the first time, using Rob's dovetail saw, marking knife and Shawn shim, I'm cutting furniture grade dovetails. Take Rob's advice to heart: good tools will take your skills where you want them to be. A shout-out to Rob, Shawn McDermot, and your work with veterans!
