One of the keys to making nice wood-hinge boxes is getting the dowel segments to line up perfectly. To do that you need dead-on 90 degree cuts which are clean and free of tear-out.
Enter my Wood Hinge Bench Hook. Coupled with my Joinery Crosscut Saw, this enables you to cut those prefect dowel segments. The grooves in the fences hold your dowel firmly while you saw and creates a zero-clearance effect giving you tear-out free cuts
One fence is grooved for a 1/4 inch dowel and the other fence is grooved for a 3/8 inch dowel, the two most commonly used dowel sizes for my wood hinge boxes. Each fence doubles as a cleat to hold the bench hook against your workbench as you saw.
Dimensions:
- 11-1/2 inches wide
- 7-1/4 inches deep
- Fences are 3/4 inch x 1 inch
