Some grinders create a little side to side movement when using the 6 or 8 inch CBN wheel due to seating problems against the shaft shoulder near the motor housing, or unequal pressure from the shaft nut. This movement can interfere with the accuracy of sharpening when using our 6 or 8 inch CBN wheels. About 20% of our customers experience this issue. If you experience this problem, these self-aligning Spherical Washers typically fix the problem.

The Spherical Washers act as a ball and socket to compensate for slight misalignment and to eliminate undue stress from the shaft nut. The hole size on this ball and socket set is slightly larger for efficient equalizing action. Please see photos for proper mounting.

Sold as a set only with the ball and socket set and flat washer. This three piece set is for one either 6” or 8" CBN Wheel so if buying two CBN wheels you will need two of these sets.

Worked perfectly

I got two sets of these one and a half inch and one in 5/8 one for my low speed, water sharpener, and one for a bench grinder. I had a wheel on my 6 inch bench grinder that would not balance, but this fixed the issue . On my low speed, water sharpener, no matter what wheel was on it, the Original or diamond wheels I had a slight wobble some worse than others, but now run true !
