We make hundreds of Rob Cosman shooting boards and even though we are really good at it, sometimes things happen. Every now and then we create a cosmetic blemish that does not affect the proper functioning of the shooting board, but we cannot sell it as one of our high quality "Firsts."

Overall, the board is very high quality. It's heavier and sturdier than I expected. Everything was square. The defect in mine was a big void and problems with the finish. Neither of these things should affect performance. They are very noticeable, but not unexpected based on the photos of the product that depict typical issues. I'm sort of surprised they made a board with a big void in the plywood face. Then again, they know there are shoppers for seconds. Buy with confidence.
