I "discovered" PEC tools of California and was so impressed I bought some of their stuff to put it to the test of daily use. I am still impressed and I now recommend PEC's premium line of combination squares.
I use my PEC combination squares when I am traveling, when I need an adjustable blade, or when I am measuring a 45 degree angle. Its a "jack of all" squares for hand tool woodworking. I recommend and use the PEC 12 and 6 inch models. Here is why:
-
6 inch long blade.
-
4R Graduation scale: 1/8ths & 1/16ths, 1/32nds & 1/64ths
-
We stock the premium "hardened steel" body - not the cast steel body - it makes a big difference in accuracy over time.
-
Blades are fully hardened and tempered, and come with a durable, satin chrome finish.
-
The high contrast, micro fine graduations are well marked, and very easy to read.
-
Its a "Jack of all squares." Allows you to measure and mark 90 or 45 degrees, adjusts to configure for just about any situation, and remains very accurate.
-
If you can only have one square this combination square is what I recommend.
-
Square/miter head features level vial and hardened scribe.
-
Knurled adjustment knob is very easy to grip.
