WOOD-HINGE BOX

In this video series Rob shows you how to make is highly sought-after wood hinge box. Dale Nish taught Rob how to make this style of wood hinge box back in the early 1980’s. Since then Rob has made some of his own improvements to the construction process most importantly a wood hinge drill jig. Rob demonstrates several ways to make to joint for these small boxes: dovetails, finger joints, miter joints, and keys; you decide which method is best for you. Most importantly, Rob takes you through making the dowel (store bought dowels are not sized accurately enough) and then making the wood hinge which turns these from ordinary wood boxes to extra-ordinary. Measurements can easily be changed to build whatever size box you want.
